Rafael Leao: Tottenham linked with move for AC Milan and Portugal forward
Rafael Leao, the Portugal international forward at AC Milan, is being linked with a move to Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur. The 27-year-old, who primarily operates as a left winger, is under contract at San Siro until 30 June 2028 but has emerged as a potential high-profile attacking target for the north London club.
Leao is currently valued at around 50 million and any negotiations would need to take into account both his long-term deal and his status as Milans number 10. Having joined the Rossoneri from Lille in August 2019 for a fee in the region of 49.5 million, he has developed into one of their most influential attacking players and a central figure in their recent resurgence.
Since arriving in Serie A, Leao has made 227 league appearances for Milan, scoring 64 goals and providing 50 assists, while also producing in European competition with six goals and seven assists in 30 Champions League matches. He featured at the 2026 World Cup, making five appearances for Portugal and contributing one goal and one assist.
Leao was a key part of Milans title-winning campaign in 2021-22, when he was named both Serie A Player of the Year and Footballer of the Year at the club, and he later helped Portugal to UEFA Nations League success in 2025. Standing at 1.88m and preferring to play off the left despite being right-footed, he offers a profile that would significantly reshape Tottenhams forward line.
For now, Leao remains an AC Milan player with two years left on his contract, leaving the Italian club in a strong position should any formal bid arrive from Tottenham.
