Rachid Ghaflaoui appointed new head coach of St Eloi Lupopo
Congolese giants St Eloi Lupopo have appointed Moroccan coach Rachid Ghaflaoui as their new head coach ahead of the upcoming season.
The experienced tactician takes over the technical leadership of the Lubumbashi-based club as they prepare for a new campaign with ambitions of competing strongly on both domestic and continental fronts.
Ghaflaoui arrives with extensive experience across African football, having worked in several leagues on the continent and built a reputation as a coach with a deep understanding of the African football landscape.
His appointment comes after St Eloi Lupopo parted ways with Guy Bukasa, whose contract with the club ended after one season. Bukasa had guided the team to a historic continental achievement, including qualification for the CAF Champions League group stage.
The Moroccan coach will now be tasked with continuing the club’s progress and leading the team towards greater success in the new season.
Lupopo, one of the most respected clubs in the Democratic Republic of Congo, will be hoping Ghaflaoui’s experience and tactical approach can help them challenge for major honours and maintain their presence in African competitions.
The arrival of Ghaflaoui marks the beginning of a new chapter for the “Cheminots” as the club seeks to build a competitive squad capable of achieving its objectives.
