Rabbi Matondo is on the verge of returning to German football, with a loan move to Hannover 96 from Rangers nearing completion.
According to Bild, the 24-year-old winger has already arrived in Hannover to finalize the last details of the deal. The agreement includes a loan until the end of the season with a purchase option.
The negotiations between Hannover 96 and Rangers are in their final stages, with both clubs close to sealing the transfer. The Bundesliga 2 side had expressed interest in Matondo weeks ago, and now all signs point to an imminent deal. The Welsh international has reportedly agreed to the move, which is expected to be made official in the coming days.
Matondo played youth football for Cardiff City and Manchester City before joining Schalke 04 in January 2019. He made 32 first-team appearances for the German club and later had loan spells at Stoke City and Cercle Brugge. In July 2022, he signed for Rangers, where his contract runs until 2026. Hannover hopes to secure a long-term future for him with the purchase option included in the loan deal.
