Captain of Egypt’s U20 national team, Ahmed Khaled “Kabaka,” is upbeat ahead of their semi-final clash against Morocco’s U20 at the 2025 CAF U20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Speaking in a pre-match interview, the highly-rated midfielder said the team is full of confidence after booking a place at this year’s FIFA U20 World Cup and wants to win the U20 AFCON on home soil.
“We’ve made a vow to ourselves and the nation that we’ll fight until the end. Morocco are a tough opponent, but we’ve shown great character to get this far,” Ahmed Khaled “Kabaka,” said, as quoted on the CAFOnline website.
The Egypt U20 captain continued, “There’s a real sense of purpose in this team. The boys are determined to make Egypt proud. The World Cup ticket gave us belief, and now we want to win the trophy.”
The semi-final clash between Egypt and Morocco at the CAF U20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament is scheduled to kick off at 6pm on Thursday, May 15.
Both teams are eager to earn a victory to make the final of the tournament.
