Jean-Michel Aulas, president of Olympique Lyonnais, has revealed during the club’s General Assembly that discussions are underway for Qatar to sponsor the name of the future Stade des Lumières, Lyon’s new stadium under construction. A delegation from Qatar is expected to arrive in Lyon to discuss the potential contract. Aulas had previously visited Qatar to explore partnerships related to training and marketing. The possibility of Qatar moving beyond sponsorship to club ownership, as seen with Paris Saint-Germain, remains uncertain.
