Pyramids FC have strengthened their squad with the signing of highly rated Zambian youngster Pascal Phiri, a move aimed at adding depth and diversity as the club builds towards the future.
The acquisition forms part of Pyramids’ long-term strategy to assemble a competitive team capable of representing Africa with distinction at the 2029 FIFA Club World Cup, where the club will feature as the continent’s 2024 champions.
Born in 2005, Phiri will be registered as an under-age player and is widely regarded as one of Africa’s most exciting young prospects.
The right winger was closely scouted during his time with Zambian giants Zesco United and through his performances with the Zambian national team. He was also part of Zambia’s final squad for the most recent Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
Despite attracting interest from several clubs, including Dutch side FC Utrecht and four Egyptian teams, Phiri opted for Pyramids FC, citing his desire to play for the African champions.
His arrival on a free transfer underlines the club’s meticulous recruitment approach and commitment to securing top young talent without incurring transfer fees.
The signing aligns with Pyramids FC’s broader vision of investing in players with significant long-term potential, preparing them both physically and mentally to form the backbone of the team in the coming seasons.
With an eye firmly fixed on the 2029 Club World Cup, the club remains focused on sustaining its success while laying strong foundations for the future.
