Pyramids FC general coach Mohamed Nagy “Gedo” has provided an update on his squad’s injury situation as the club prepares for two crucial Egyptian Premier League fixtures against Zamalek and Al Ahly.

Fans are eagerly anticipating Thursday’s clash between Zamalek and Pyramids FC, scheduled for 8 p.m. in the third round of the league’s championship stage. Attention will then quickly shift to another high-stakes encounter, as Pyramids face Al Ahly on Monday, April 27.

Speaking to MBC Egypt, Gedo acknowledged the growing injury concerns within the squad, noting the impact on preparations.

“Pyramids’ injuries? By God, we were envied. They always said Pyramids had the strongest squad in Egypt, and now we have many injuries,” he said.

He confirmed that Mostafa Fathi will miss upcoming action due to his involvement with the Egyptian national team at the World Cup.

On Mohamed El-Sheibi, Gedo explained that the defender is recovering from a knee injury and is expected to return to training, although his availability for the Zamalek match remains uncertain pending further assessment.

He also listed several other absentees, including Walid El Karti, Mahmoud Zalaka, and Mahmoud Marei, indicating that they are likely to miss the Zamalek fixture. However, there is optimism that some of them could return in time for the Al Ahly match.
