Pyramids finish pre-season with win over El Sharqia Enppi

Pyramids ended their pre-season programme with a 2-1 victory over El Sharqia Enppi, completing a day of preparation that also included a 6-0 win against Modern Dubai.

Ahmed Atef “Kota” and Khaled Awad scored for Pyramids, while Ahmed Nader Hawash was on target for El Sharqia Enppi.

The two friendly matches were played on Sunday as Pyramids stepped up their preparations for the new season. The club began the day with a convincing victory over Modern Dubai before completing their schedule with the narrower win against El Sharqia Enppi.

El Sharqia Enppi took the lead in the first half through Hawash. Pyramids responded after the break, with Atef “Kota” bringing the sides level.

Awad then completed the turnaround late in the match, scoring Pyramids’ winning goal with a shot from inside the penalty area.

The fixture was particularly notable for Awad, who made his Pyramids debut just hours after the club announced his signing on Sunday morning. The new arrival made an immediate impact by scoring the goal that secured the victory.

The result brought Pyramids’ preparations for the new campaign to a close. Their two matches on Sunday represented the final stage of their friendly programme before the start of competitive action.

Pyramids finished last season in second place, one point behind league champions Zamalek. They will begin the new season against Ghazl El Mahalla on Saturday, with kick-off scheduled for 20:00.

The victory over El Sharqia Enppi therefore provides Pyramids with a winning conclusion to their pre-season, while the club now turns its attention to its opening league fixture.
