Pyramids FC have officially requested the Egyptian Football Association to appoint a foreign refereeing team for their upcoming league clash against Zamalek, a match that could prove decisive in the title race.

The two sides are set to meet on April 23 in the third round of the championship stage, with both clubs firmly in contention for the league crown.

Zamalek currently lead the standings with 46 points, while Pyramids FC sit second on 44 points, setting up a high-stakes encounter at the top of the table.

According to a source, Pyramids FC have formally submitted their request to the federation seeking officials from outside Egypt to handle the fixture.

Under Egyptian Premier League regulations, clubs are permitted to request foreign referees for matches, provided they cover the associated costs.

These include referee fees, travel, and accommodation expenses, which must be paid in foreign currency at least ten days before the scheduled fixture.

Clubs may also make such requests at the start of the season, as long as payment is made alongside the application.
