Pyramids FC midfielder Nasser Maher has shared his excitement after scoring his first goal for the club in the CAF Champions League clash against RS Berkane.
The defending champions cruised to a resounding 3-0 win over the Moroccan outfit in the fourth round of the group stage, held at the Air Defense Stadium.
The 28-year-old attacking midfielder scored and assisted a goal, contributing to the sides’ emphatic victory at the weekend.
“We were facing a strong team, but we were focused and we studied Renaissance Berkane well, and I think we have good potential as a team.” he told beIN SPORTS.
“I am happy with my first goal and my first win with Pyramids, but many of my teammates already knew me because we were together in the Egyptian national team, and off the field we are friends.”
“Pyramids are currently the African champions and we play to win every tournament and every match, and that’s something any player would like.”
Pyramids’ tally rose to ten points in the group standings, three points ahead of second-placed RS Berkane.
