Pyramids FC have reportedly submitted a special request following their historic qualification for the CAF Champions League final on Friday night.
The Egyptian side secured their place in the final for the first time in their history after a thrilling 3-2 victory over Orlando Pirates in the second leg of their semi-final.
Following this milestone achievement, Pyramids sporting director Hany Said confirmed that the club has requested for the Egypt Cup final against Zamalek to be postponed.
The final is currently set for May 20, just four days before the second leg of the Champions League final against Mamelodi Sundowns.
This would be Pyramids’ first-ever appearance in a Champions League final, and the club is eager to ensure adequate preparation time between the two high-stakes matches.
In the aftermath of their semi-final triumph, Pyramids head coach Krunoslav Jurčić praised his team’s performance, expressing that they were the better side on the night.
“We were the better team in the match, with strong personalities displayed by the players… Orlando also played a great match,” Jurčić said, as reported by Kooora.
