Egyptian outfit Pyramids FC re keen on keeping DR Congo International Fiston Mayele as the club gear up for the 2025/26 football campaign.
Mayele is attracting strong attention from Saudi Pro League side Al Fateh, who are seeking reinforcements in attack ahead of the new season.
Currently, the enterprising attacker has one year left on his deal with Pyramids after the club activated an extension clause. However, the 30-year-old is understood to be eager for a new challenge, which has opened the door for potential exit talks.
Despite Mayele’s recent tribute to the club, Pyramids are determined to keep their key player, as he remains a crucial part of the project.
A statement intercepted by AfricaSoccer.com reads, “At this moment, we are not planning to let go of any key players. We have no intention of releasing Mayele, especially considering the management’s plans to maintain the core of the team and strengthen it with top signings, given the tough competition we’re set to face,”
Pyramids are indeed looking for ways to bolster their attack, but parting with Fiston Mayele is not in their plans.
Mayele played a pivotal role, contributing to the Egyptian outfit’s historic CAF Champions League triumph. He scored nine goals to emerge as the topscorer in the 2024/25 campaign.
