Pyramids FC hit by injury setback ahead of African campaign
Pyramids FC has been dealt a painful blow just as their African journey gathers momentum.
The Egyptian side confirmed that defender Osama Galal will spend a significant spell on the sidelines after suffering a hamstring tear during their 3-1 victory over Saudi club Al-Ahly in Jeddah on Tuesday.
Galal could not continue beyond the first half, and after scans, the club’s head of medical staff Mustafa El-Moniri revealed the full extent of the damage. “Medical tests revealed a tear in his hamstring muscle,” El-Moniri explained, leaving fans and teammates concerned about the road ahead.
The timing of the injury could hardly be worse. Pyramids are already dealing with the absence of star winger Ramadan Sobhi and Moroccan playmaker Walid El Karti, both recovering from earlier setbacks. Now, with three key players missing, the team must regroup quickly before taking on Rwanda’s Army in the first leg of the CAF Champions League preliminary round.
Supporters remain hopeful that the squad’s depth and resilience will shine through as they chase continental success.
