Pyramids FC head coach, Krunoslav Jurcic expressed his delight following his team’s emphatic 5-1 triumph over Angola’s Sagrada in the CAF Champions League on Tuesday.
Speaking after the game at the Air Defense Stadium in Cairo, Jurcic praised his players while highlighting areas for improvement.
“I am happy with the performance and the result, but there are two points that I am not satisfied with, which are not scoring early and conceding a goal from the Angolan team,” he remarked.
Jurcic emphasised the team’s need to improve its offensive efficiency, despite the convincing scoreline.
“I am working with the players on the offensive effectiveness, and despite scoring five goals, the team missed many opportunities,” he added.
The coach was full of praise for Ahmed Atef Qattah, suggesting the player deserves a call-up to the Egyptian national team, citing his “special qualities.”
He also lauded Ahmed El-Shennawy, calling him “the best goalkeeper in Egypt,” and noted that the shot-stopper was “at the peak of his focus during the match.”
Ramadan Sobhi also earned accolades, with Jurcic describing him as a “great player” who “has great qualities and is adding value to the team.”
Looking ahead, the coach stressed the importance of maintaining focus in upcoming away fixtures.
“I will work on focusing well in the matches against Djoliba of Mali and Esperance of Tunisia to achieve a positive result,” he stated.
Jurcic’s satisfaction with the victory is tempered by his determination to refine his squad as Pyramids FC continue their quest for CAF Champions League success.
