Pyramids FC has lodged a formal complaint with the Egyptian Football Association’s Grievance Committee, pushing for the suspension and reversal of the Clubs Association’s ruling that upheld Zamalek’s 3-0 win over Al Ahly while scrapping the additional three-point deduction from Al Ahly’s tally at season’s end.
The club’s legal team submitted a detailed memorandum outlining the events, facts, and legal grounds supporting their case, referencing penalties Zamalek faced for a similar issue last year.
Pyramids FC confirmed it seeks an immediate halt to the amended decision’s enforcement, as outlined in the Association’s March 30 website statement, which spared Al Ahly the three-point penalty pending the grievance outcome. Pyramid FC who are not happy also demanded the league provide an official copy of the contested decision, the board meeting minutes, and related documents, including Al Ahly’s initial complaint.
The Pyramids board had already voiced its firm opposition to the league’s handling of the summit clash penalties between Zamalek and Al Ahly.
Al Ahly had protested the lack of foreign referees and boycotted the match, prompting initial sanctions that the league later softened.
