Pyramids FC attacker Nadir Ben Bouali ruled out of Algeria AFCON 2027 qualifiers due to injury

Pyramids FC striker Ahmed Nadir Ben Bouali has been ruled out of Algeria’s upcoming international camp after suffering a hamstring injury.

The Egyptian club confirmed on Thursday that the Algerian international will not join the Desert Warriors for the September international break after sustaining the injury during Pyramids’ league meeting with El Gouna.

Dr Mustafa Al-Muniri, head of Pyramids FC’s medical staff, revealed that Ben Bouali suffered a tear in his hamstring during the match.

Following the assessment of the injury, Pyramids FC contacted the Algerian Football Federation to provide an update on the player’s condition and inform the national team’s medical staff about his need for treatment and rehabilitation.

As a result, it was decided that Ben Bouali would be excused from joining Algeria’s training camp, which is scheduled to run from September 21 to October 6.

The  striker is currently undergoing a rehabilitation programme under the supervision of Pyramids FC’s medical team as he works towards making a full recovery.

According to Al-Muniri, Ben Bouali will continue his rehabilitation during the international break, with the aim of returning to action after the break.

Pyramids are targeting the Algerian’s return for their League Cup fixture against Al-Qanah on October 8.

Ben Bouali’s absence comes as a setback for Algeria, who will be preparing for their upcoming international fixtures under head coach Brahim Hemdani.

The Algerian Football Federation had previously informed Pyramids that Ben Bouali was expected to report for national team duty during the September-October camp.

However, the hamstring problem sustained against El Gouna has forced the striker to remain with his club as he focuses on his recovery.

Pyramids will continue to monitor his progress over the coming weeks before determining when he can resume full training and competitive action.
