Pyramids continue hot streak with 2-0 victory over Pharco
Pyramids FC secured a comfortable 2-0 victory over Pharco in Cairo’s Air Defense Stadium, advancing in the 11th round of the Egyptian Premier League.
Congolese striker Fiston Mayele opened the scoring in the 23rd minute, followed by a goal from Mostafa Fathi in the 57th. Led by coach Krunoslav Jurcic, Pyramids now have 17 points after 8 games, with two matches still pending due to continental and international commitments.
Pharco, managed by Ahmed Khattab, remains at the bottom of the table with only 6 points. This marks the seventh consecutive win for Pyramids in all competitions since losing to Modern Sport in August.
The winning streak includes key victories over Al Ahly and Zed in the league, plus triumphs against Auckland City and Al-Ahli in the Intercontinental Cup, where the team was crowned champions. Most notably, the defense hasn’t conceded in their last five matches.
Fiston Mayele continues to shine with eight goals across all competitions this season, although speculation surrounds his future as his contract ends soon. Mohamed Chibi was named man of the match, assisting a goal and excelling in both attack and defense. Pyramids avenged a critical loss to Pharco last season that cost them the league title.
The club, under chairman Mamdouh Eid since 2019, aspires to be a model of modern professionalism and aims for further continental glory this season
