Pyramids coach Krunoslav Jurcic slams Egyptian Football Association over poor match scheduling
Pyramids FC coach Krunoslav Jurcic openly criticized the Egyptian Football Association after his team’s 1-1 draw against AS FAR in the first leg of the CAF Champions League quarter-finals in Morocco on Friday.
During the post-match press conference, Jurcic interrupted journalists to voice his frustration over scheduling decisions.
“Out of the eight quarter-finalists, we are the only team required to play an Egypt Cup match just three days before our next continental fixture,” he said.
“We are the only side facing this situation, having to compete between the first and second legs of the African Champions League.”
He concluded with a pointed remark: “Thanks to whoever made that decision in Egypt—that’s all I wanted to say unexpectedly.”
Pyramids will take on Petrojet in the Egyptian Cup next Tuesday before returning to CAF Champions League action against AS FAR in the second leg next Saturday.
