Pyramids coach Krunoslav Jurcic over the moon after FIFA African-Asian-Pacific Cup triumph
The head coach of Pyramids FC, Krunoslav Jurcic, shared his delight on Tuesday evening after leading the team to clinch the 2025 FIFA African-Asian-Pacific Cup.
As reigning CAF Champions League winners, the Egyptians locked horns with Asian champions Al Ahli Saudi at King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah today to battle for glory.
In the pulsating encounter that ensued between the two teams, a sensational hat-trick from Congolese attacker Fiston Mayele Kalala propelled Pyramids FC to a 3-1 victory to claim the trophy.
Speaking in a post-match interview, Coach Krunoslav Jurcic shared his delight while applauding his players for a top performance to beat the Saudi opponent.
“I have to say that I’m very happy, congratulations to my players. They played a very good match. I knew that we were a good team, but before the match I was a little bit scared because we don’t play a lot in front of this number of supporters, but my guys played good football and we won,” the coach said.
Courtesy of the win, Pyramids FC now advance to the FIFA Challenger Cup 2025, where they will face Mexico’s Cruz Azul or the eventual Copa Libertadores champions on December 13.
The victor of that clash will earn a date with Paris Saint-Germain in the FIFA Intercontinental Cup 2025.
