Pyramids coach Krunoslav Jurcic faces absences with confidence as goalkeeper Ahmed El-Shenawy dreams of Egypt call up
Krunoslav Jurcic, Pyramids FC’s head coach, expressed his excitement about competing in Abu Dhabi for the Egyptian Super Cup and praised his team’s strong focus and winning mentality.
At a press conference, Jurcic reflected on last year’s tough semi-final against Zamalek, emphasizing his squad’s growth: “We learned a lot from our previous loss to Zamalek, now we’re more mature and determined to win.”
Despite missing key players such as Ramadan Sobhi, Mostafa Fathi, Osama Galal, Blati Toure, and Dunga, Jurcic maintained his belief in the team: “Absences are tough, but our substitutes are ready. We aim to move past Zamalek and claim another trophy.” He noted that the new Zamalek coach’s impact may take time, stating, “Change brings energy, but real tactical shifts require patience.”
Jurcic added, “Each of the four teams, including Ahly and Ceramica Cleopatra, have a real shot at the title. But our hunger and ambition motivate us to write a fresh chapter for Pyramids.”
Goalkeeper Ahmed El-Shenawy, meanwhile, said, “I’m honored to represent Pyramids. Zamalek are always a formidable opponent, but our motivation is high to bring the Super Cup home.” El-Shenawy addressed his absence from the national team, showing support for Egypt: “Selection is up to the coaches, but I wish the best for my teammates and our country”.
