Pyramids coach Krunoslav Jurcic defiant before Flamengo clash

Pyramids coach Krunoslav Jurcic confirmed that his entire squad is ready for the Flamengo showdown in the Intercontinental Cup semi-final at Ahmed bin Ali Stadium, describing it as a new and valuable experience for a team still building its international pedigree.

He stressed that his players are highly motivated, asking only for calmness, focus and precise execution of the tactical plan in a match where any mistake can be punished immediately.

Yurčić explained that he is not thinking about a possible final against Paris Saint-Germain, repeating an old lesson he received early in his career that “the next match is the only one that matters,” so all attention is on Flamengo. He praised the Brazilian side’s history and the quality of its experienced, Europe-tested players, but insisted he trusts his own group, reminding that Pyramids have already overcome difficult opponents and situations to reach this stage.

The Croatian coach reiterated his preference for a high-pressing style and revealed his anger at the absence of Walid El Karti, away with Morocco at the Arab Cup, saying he feels the club is being punished and not properly supported by domestic and continental federations. He ended by calling on all Egyptian fans in Qatar to get behind Pyramids, stressing that the club represents Egyptian football and carries a name inspired by one of the country’s greatest symbols, the Giza Pyramids.
