IVORIAN FOOTBALL FEDERATION RENEWS PARTNERSHIP WITH PUMA UNTIL 2018
The Ivorian Football Federation (FIF) and PUMA have officially extended their longstanding partnership. The new agreement, finalized on Wednesday during FIF President Sidy Diallo’s visit to Germany, ensures that the German sportswear giant will continue outfitting Côte d’Ivoire’s national football teams for an additional three years, beginning in January 2015.
“PUMA has a special relationship with African football, and we are delighted to renew our contract with the FIF,” said Christian Volgt, Senior Global Sports Marketing Manager at PUMA. “This partnership is very important to PUMA as we continue to strengthen our position in the sport. The Elephants are a major force in African football, and Côte d’Ivoire has produced some incredibly talented players, such as Yaya Touré. We look forward to continuing this thriving partnership in the years to come.”
The partnership between PUMA and the FIF began in 2005, ahead of the 2006 Africa Cup of Nations/World Cup qualifiers, and has since been marked by numerous milestones, including appearances at multiple FIFA World Cups and deep runs in the AFCON.
The deal reaffirms PUMA’s commitment to African football, maintaining its strong presence on the continent through partnerships with several national teams. For Côte d’Ivoire, the extension provides continuity and stability in branding, equipment, and technical wear for the Elephants as they prepare for upcoming competitions.
