PSV Eindhoven keep Azzedine Ounahi on transfer shortlist as attacking reinforcements take priority

PSV Eindhoven are continuing to monitor Girona midfielder Azzedine Ounahi, although their interest in the Morocco international has not yet developed into a concrete move. Ounahi is among the players being considered by the Dutch club as they assess possible additions to their squad.

Spanish media reported on Tuesday that PSV had identified Ounahi as a potential target. The 25-year-old had already been linked with Ajax earlier in the summer, but there has so far been no formal progress from PSV.

The Eindhoven club remain in the market for reinforcements, with Ounahi’s name now part of a wider list of midfield options. Quinten Timber, formerly of Feyenoord, had also been considered by PSV previously.

Whether either midfield target can realistically be pursued remains uncertain. PSV’s midfield is still crowded despite Joey Veerman’s departure, leaving the club with a large number of players competing for places in that area.

Timber is also available to leave Olympique de Marseille and has attracted interest from FC Porto, who are managed by Francesco Farioli. That situation could influence the midfielder’s next move, but he is not currently the only player being assessed by PSV.

Attack remains PSV’s priority

While the club continue to examine midfield possibilities, PSV’s main focus in the transfer market is currently on strengthening their attack. The Dutch champions are looking to sign a new striker and have shown interest in Sam Lammers of FC Twente.

The interest in Lammers was reported by VI last Tuesday. No agreement has been reported, but the striker is one of the attacking options being considered as PSV plan for the remainder of the window.

A wide player is also likely to be on the club’s recruitment list. PSV confirmed on Tuesday that Couhaib Driouech had completed his transfer to Celta Vigo, reducing the options available in that position.

There is also uncertainty over Esmir Bajrakterovic. The Bosnia and Herzegovina international could leave PSV before the transfer window closes next week, making the search for another winger a potential priority alongside the pursuit of a striker.

For now, Ounahi remains a name on PSV’s list rather than an imminent signing. The club’s crowded midfield means any move for the Girona player would need to be weighed against its more pressing needs in attack and out wide.
