PSS Sleman sign Mali midfielder Moussa Bagayoko on free transfer

Mali midfielder Moussa Bagayoko has joined Indonesian club PSS Sleman from Libya’s Al-Watan on a free transfer.

The 27-year-old central midfielder completed the move on 1 August 2026, switching from the Libyan Premier League to Indonesia’s Super League. PSS Sleman have not disclosed the length of Bagayoko’s contract.

Bagayoko arrives at PSS Sleman with experience across several leagues and countries. Before moving to Indonesia, he played for Al-Watan after joining the Libyan club from Real in July 2025.

His previous career has also taken him through Venezuela, Israel and Turkey. He joined Real after a spell with Al-Shabab Club, having previously represented Carabobo FC and FC Ashdod. His time in Israel included a loan spell with Hapoel Kfar Saba, while he also played for Adanaspor and Elazigspor in Turkey.

Bagayoko’s record includes 61 appearances in Turkey’s 1. Lig, where he scored once and provided four assists. He also made 27 appearances in Liga Leumit, scoring three goals, and featured 18 times in Israel’s top division, registering two goals and one assist.

The midfielder began his senior career with Black Stars before moving to Elazigspor’s under-21 side in 2017. He subsequently progressed into the Turkish professional game, joining Elazigspor’s senior team before completing a free transfer to Adanaspor in January 2019.

Bagayoko later moved to FC Ashdod for a reported fee of €90,000 in October 2020. He spent the 2021-22 season on loan at Hapoel Kfar Saba before returning to Ashdod, then joined Carabobo FC as a free agent in February 2023.

His move to Al-Shabab Club in August 2024 was also completed without a transfer fee. He subsequently joined Real in January 2025 and Al-Watan the following July, before making the latest switch to PSS Sleman.

Bagayoko, who was born in Bamako and stands 1.81m tall, is comfortable using either foot. His arrival gives PSS Sleman a midfielder with playing experience in competitions in Turkey, Israel, Libya and Venezuela.

The move is Bagayoko’s latest free transfer and places him in Indonesia after a season with Al-Watan. He has now officially joined PSS Sleman for the 2026-27 season.
