PSL: Five signings making an early impact this season

With the Premier Soccer League transfer window now closed, these five new arrivals have made the strongest early impression before the Fifa international break.

Nqaba Xulu – Richards Bay

Nqaba Xulu has been one of the standout performers since joining Richards Bay from Milford as a free agent during the off-season.

The 23-year-old striker has scored five goals in seven appearances, putting him second in the scoring charts behind AmaZulu forward Thandolwenkosi Ngwenya, who has eight.

Tylo Sanger – Durban City

Tylo Sanger has become an important presence in the Durban City midfield after moving from Cape Town Spurs in the off-season.

The 22-year-old has played every minute of the club’s nine appearances across all competitions. He has also collected two man-of-the-match awards in the league and is believed to have attracted interest from Mamelodi Sundowns.

Gamphani Lungu – Orlando Pirates

Gamphani Lungu has made an immediate contribution at Orlando Pirates since joining from Siwelele during the off-season.

The 28-year-old has scored four goals and supplied one assist in seven appearances in the MTN8 and the league. His form earned him Orlando Pirates’ Player of the Month award and a call-up to the Zambia national team for the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Siyanda Ndlovu – Mamelodi Sundowns

Siyanda Ndlovu has enjoyed an impressive start to his Mamelodi Sundowns career after arriving from Golden Arrows before the season began.

The 24-year-old midfielder has brought creativity, pace and an attacking threat to Masandawana’s forward play. He has scored twice and provided one assist in 10 appearances across all competitions.

Antonio van Wyk – Mamelodi Sundowns

Antonio van Wyk has also adapted quickly at Mamelodi Sundowns after joining from Austrian club SV Ried in June.

The 24-year-old has featured eight times across all competitions, scoring four goals and creating one assist.
