Paris Saint-Germain left-back Emmanuel Mbemba has reportedly made it clear he would welcome a move to Barcelona as his future in France remains unresolved.
The 17-year-old’s contract runs out at the end of the current season, meaning Barca could sign him on a free if he decides not to renew with PSG.
Mbemba has been a regular for PSG’s under-19s, making 29 appearances and emerging as one of the more exciting prospects in the club’s academy structure.
Despite that, he has yet to convince first-team coach Luis Enrique that he is ready for senior minutes, which has opened the door to interest from elsewhere. While contract talks between PSG and the player’s camp have not produced a breakthrough, the French champions are still hopeful of keeping him and securing his long-term future in Paris.
For Barcelona, Mbemba’s situation represents a low-cost opportunity to strengthen depth at left-back with a highly rated teenage talent.
If he does not extend his deal, the Catalan side could move quickly to bring him in without paying a transfer fee, adding another promising defender to their rebuilding project.
