PSG enter transfer race for RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande with €80m bid
Yan Diomande has become the subject of a major transfer battle, with Paris Saint-Germain reportedly making an opening offer as competition intensifies for the highly rated RB Leipzig winger.
Interest in the 19-year-old has grown rapidly ahead of the transfer window, with several top European clubs monitoring his situation closely.
Liverpool FC are currently viewed as strong contenders in the race, but PSG have now moved decisively in an effort to secure an early advantage.
According to reports from Fichajes, PSG have submitted an initial offer believed to be in the region of €80 million.
The French club have already been tracking Diomande’s progress over recent months and are understood to have held preliminary discussions with his representatives.
The move highlights the strong interest from PSG, with head coach Luis Enrique said to be a key driving force behind the pursuit.
The manager is reportedly convinced that Diomande’s technical profile and attacking qualities align with his tactical approach, prompting the club to act swiftly.
Despite PSG’s early move, the competition remains significant. Manchester United are also said to have submitted an offer, while Bayern Munich are understood to have identified the winger as a priority target to strengthen their right-sided attacking options.
RB Leipzig, however, are determined to retain the player and are exploring the possibility of extending his current contract, which runs until June 2030.
Reports suggest discussions are ongoing with Diomande’s representatives regarding a potential extension that could include a release clause allowing a future departure in 2027.
The final decision is expected to rest with the player, who is likely to evaluate all options during the summer window.
However, it is understood that Diomande may delay a definitive decision until after the 2026 World Cup, as he prioritises his immediate sporting development and international ambitions.
With several of Europe’s biggest clubs now involved, the race for Diomande is expected to develop further in the coming weeks.
