Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) are reportedly considering a swap deal involving Randal Kolo Muani and Chelsea’s Christopher Nkunku in the January transfer window.
The move could also be a tactic to outmanoeuvre Manchester United, which is said to be keen on Nkunku.
Nkunku, Chelsea’s top scorer across all competitions this season, has netted 11 goals, though only one has come in the Premier League. Despite his impressive record, the 27-year-old has started just one league game under manager Enzo Maresca.
Reports suggest Nkunku is frustrated with his limited game time and might seek an exit in January, even though Maresca has expressed his desire to retain the forward.
Meanwhile, PSG are reportedly eager to bring back their former academy graduate, with sources indicating they have hinted at the idea of including Kolo Muani in a deal for Nkunku.
The 25-year-old striker, who joined PSG in a high-profile move last summer, has struggled to cement a regular role and is now considered surplus to requirements.
While Chelsea are said to value Kolo Muani, the club is not expected to actively pursue the swap. They remain confident Nkunku will stay unless presented with a “serious” offer.
As the January transfer window approaches, both clubs are set to make critical decisions about bolstering their squads.
