PSG target Jules Kounde for central defence
PSG are weighing up a move for Jules Kounde, with Luis Enrique reportedly eager to add a versatile defender who can strengthen the heart of his back line.
The Barcelona man is seen in Paris as more than a full-back option, with the coach said to prefer him in central defence where his qualities would be used more naturally.
Kounde’s situation at Barcelona is no longer as untouchable as it once was, which has opened the door to speculation about a summer exit. PSG are watching closely and may try to take advantage if the Catalan club decide to listen to offers. A valuation of around 70 million euros has already been mentioned, which would make this a major operation even for the French champions.
The Parisian club are still building their squad and have several targets in play, but Kounde stands out because of his experience, composure and tactical versatility. For Luis Enrique, the appeal is clear: he wants a defender who fits his system and can play in the position that suits him best.
According to Transfermarkt, Kounde’s current market value is 60,000,000 euros.
