Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) is undeniably enjoying one of its best seasons, evident in their recent 3-0 victory against Reims at the latter’s home ground. This triumph marked PSG’s 34th match without defeat, highlighting the club’s technical prowess. However, some players, like French international Blaise Matuidi, are cautious about making direct comparisons between the eras of Carlo Ancelotti and Laurent Blanc.
Matuidi emphasized that each season brings its own dynamics, and it’s essential to assess the team’s strength at the end of the year. He pointed out that PSG is currently solid and strong, refusing to dwell on comparisons with the previous season.
“The years go by and they are never the same. It’s another PSG, another season. We will see at the end of the year if we are stronger than last year. What is certain is that we are solid and strong. I don’t want to talk about last season,” Matuidi stated.
For Matuidi, the primary focus is on the current performance level of the club and the ultimate results. He emphasized the team’s consistency against various opponents like Reims, Marseille, or Monaco, showcasing the same control and involvement in every match.
“This year, we are good against Reims, Marseille, or Monaco. We are focused on all the matches we play. This, therefore, means that we have the same control and the same involvement. We keep the same level of play,” Matuidi explained to L’Equipe.
