Paris Saint Germain full-back, Achraf Hakimi has shown solidarity with victims of recent flood incident in Ksar El Kebir, in the northern part of Morocco.
Hakimi, a native of Morocco wasted no time to commiserate with the victims amidst the torrential floods that caused material damage and sparked concern among residents, most of whom were evacuated as a precaution against further deterioration.
“Much courage and strength to all those affected by the floods hitting Ksar El Kebir and the surrounding areas. Our hearts are with them during these difficult times.” He wrote on Instagram.
The Paris Saint-Germain star’s stance carries special significance given his direct family ties to Ksar El Kebir, his mother’s birthplace. This explains the swift and compassionate response of the Atlas Lions captain to the plight of those affected.
Hakimi, who recently won the African Footballer of the Year award played a huge role as the Atlas Lions reached the final of the just concluded AFCON 2025 tournament, held in Morocco.
Unfortunately, the North African football powerhouse failed to annex the trophy that has eluded the country for 50-years, succumbing to a 1-0 defeat in a chaotic final Senegal.
The defender has since returned to Paris Saint Germain and is looking forward to inspiring the side to success in the current football campaign.
