Serge Aurier Joins PSG on Loan from Toulouse
Paris Saint-Germain have secured the services of Ivorian international Serge Aurier on a season-long loan from Toulouse FC. The 21-year-old defender, who impressed with both club and country over the past year, will now take on a new challenge in the French capital.
The move, finalised on Wednesday, means Aurier will not return to Toulouse this season.
Despite his departure, the full-back took to Twitter to express gratitude to his former club and supporters.
“Thank you all for your messages,” Aurier wrote. “Parisian next season, thanks to Toulouse FC. See you soon on the Ligue 1 pitches.”
Toulouse also bid farewell to their former player, posting a message asking PSG to “take good care of the Ivorian.”
Aurier, who starred for Ivory Coast at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, is expected to strengthen PSG’s defensive options as they pursue domestic and European success.
