Nasser Al-Khelaifi, the president of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), has expressed his admiration for Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah but reiterated the club’s commitment to respecting both the player and Liverpool’s contract.
This statement comes as speculation surrounding Salah’s future intensifies, with his current deal at Anfield set to expire in the summer of 2025.
The 32-year-old forward has suggested a willingness to consider leaving Liverpool, which has fueled rumours of a potential transfer to PSG or other top European clubs.
Despite the swirling gossip, Al-Khelaifi sought to clarify PSG’s position during a press conference at the FIFA Club World Cup draw.
“I love Salah, also because he came from our part of the world.
“I am very proud of him, honestly, for what he’s done in the Premier League with Liverpool. And I have big respect for him and for Liverpool.”
Furthermore, the PSG president confirmed that his club has not initiated any discussions with Salah or Liverpool regarding a transfer, stating, “We never talked to him.
“Respect Liverpool and respect the player – he has a contract with Liverpool and we never talked to him.”
