The French Professional Football League has instructed Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) to pay €55 million in unpaid wages and bonuses owed to forward Kylian Mbappe.

These payments stem from the contract that the French international of Cameroonian and Algerian descent signed that expired in the summer of 2024.

In response, Mbappe’s legal team has initiated proceedings with the High Appeals Commission of the French Football Federation, which is anticipated to schedule hearings in the near future.

Meanwhile, PSG could face repercussions from UEFA for alleged breaches of the Club Licensing and Financial Fair Play rules.

These regulations stipulate that clubs competing in European tournaments must not have any outstanding debts to their employees on specific dates: July 15, October 15, or January 15.

Should investigations confirm violations, PSG could face serious penalties, including exclusion from future European competitions.

Representatives for Kylian Mbappe have expressed optimism for a fair ruling from UEFA, emphasizing the importance of adhering to established rules.

As the situation unfolds, the implications for both Mbappe and PSG could significantly impact the club’s financial and competitive standing in European football.
