The highly anticipated PSG–OM showdown in Ligue 1 delivered on its promise Sunday evening. Despite producing one of their best performances of the season, Marseille fell to a clinical Paris Saint-Germain side (2-1). Cameroonian defender Nicolas Nkoulou expressed his frustration after the narrow defeat.
> “There are a lot of regrets. We all gave our all. Matches of this magnitude are decided by details, and we lost on that. It’s a shame,” Nkoulou told Canal+.
OM took the lead through Belgian striker Michy Batshuayi, but Zlatan Ibrahimović responded with two first-half penalties to put PSG ahead. In the second half, Marseille had a golden opportunity to level the score, but Moroccan midfielder Abdelaziz Barrada failed to convert from the spot.
