PSG midfielder Senny Mayulu facing weeks out with thigh injury
Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Senny Mayulu is set for several weeks on the sidelines after suffering a left-thigh injury while representing France Under-21s.
The 20-year-old started against Estonia in a European Championship qualifier but was forced off before halftime after feeling discomfort.
Mayulu returned to Paris for further medical examinations, and PSG later confirmed the nature of the problem. “Having sustained a left thigh injury during the France U21 match against Estonia on Tuesday evening, Senny Mayulu will undergo treatment over the coming weeks,” the club announced.
The update is a setback for the young midfielder, who had hoped to use the international break to build confidence and improve his physical condition. Mayulu has made only limited progress in Luis Enrique’s first-team plans this season, recording just 67 minutes for the club.
L’Equipe reports that the injury may involve a thigh tear and adductor pain, potentially keeping him out for around one month. If that estimate proves accurate, Mayulu could miss upcoming matches against Le Mans, Manchester City and Strasbourg.
PSG will monitor his recovery before setting a return date. His absence removes another midfield option during a congested schedule, leaving Enrique to manage his squad carefully until the academy graduate is fit again.
