PSG and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting missed the chance to celebrate their eighth French league title on Sunday after a draw against Strasbourg. The result means the Parisians will have to wait until their next match, against Lille, for a chance to clinch the championship.
The outcome was partly influenced by an unusual moment from Choupo-Moting, who inadvertently prevented teammate Christopher Nkunku from scoring an almost certain goal by stopping the ball just as it was about to cross the line.
Despite the mishap, teammate Kylian Mbappé offered words of encouragement on social media: “Too bad about the title tonight, we tried our best… Big up to MCM17, I’ve missed way more than you this season. We remain a united group and we’ll support you until the end,” the French international wrote on Twitter.
