PSG Mbappe criminal investigation ends without charges
The criminal investigation involving Paris Saint-Germain and Kylian Mbappe has ended without charges.
French investigating judges reportedly issued a dismissal in May after concluding that there were not “sufficient charges” to continue the case.
The inquiry began after Mbappe filed a complaint against PSG in May 2025, alleging moral harassment and an attempt to pressure him into signing an agreement. The case focused on the club’s decision to place him in the so-called “loft” during the summer of 2023, excluding him from the first-team group.
Mbappe’s legal representatives later withdrew the complaint and made that decision public. According to sources cited by AFP, the judges considered it impossible to continue effectively without the complainant’s support. They also believed questioning witnesses and other individuals involved would have little purpose under those circumstances.
Neither PSG nor Mbappe’s lawyer, Pierre-Olivier Sur, offered a comment when contacted.
The criminal aspect of the dispute is now closed, but the wider conflict has also involved significant financial claims. Mbappe left PSG as a free agent in 2024 to join Real Madrid, before pursuing unpaid wages, bonuses and holiday compensation. A labour court ultimately ordered PSG to pay approximately €61 million, and the club chose not to appeal.
