Matuidi on Ibrahimovic’s Absence: “He Wants to Be 100%”
During Friday’s press conference at Camp des Loges, Blaise Matuidi stepped in for coach Laurent Blanc and addressed the ongoing absence of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who was sidelined for PSG’s Ligue 1 match against Lorient.
Matuidi emphasized that while Ibrahimovic is eager to return, he is being cautious about his recovery:
“Zlatan is sad not to be playing. He wants to be on the pitch and is working hard to come back, but he doesn’t want to take risks—it’s normal,” said the French international.
He added:
“We want him at 100%, and so does he. At 50%, he would be the first to be disappointed. Let him return fully fit to score goals like he’s always done.”
Ibrahimovic, who has missed several matches due to injury, may return next Wednesday against Apoel Nicosia in the Champions League, or be saved for the high-stakes Clasico clash against Marseille on Sunday, November 9—a marquee fixture on Ligue 1’s Matchday 13.
