PSG leading race to sign Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen after establishing contact

Victor Osimhen

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) is making significant strides in its pursuit of Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, emerging as the frontrunner to secure his services during the upcoming winter transfer window.

The French giants have reportedly contacted Osimhen’s representatives to express their interest, signalling their intent to strengthen their attacking lineup.

Currently on loan from Napoli to Galatasaray, Osimhen has been a standout performer, catching the attention of Europe’s elite clubs. While the 24-year-old forward is flattered by PSG’s approach and intrigued by their ambitious project, he remains content in Turkey, where he has settled well and received strong support from fans.

Despite PSG’s determination, several obstacles stand in the way of finalizing the transfer. Head coach Luis Enrique has yet to fully endorse the move, reflecting his cautious stance during the summer transfer window. His approval will be pivotal in determining whether the deal progresses.

Additionally, the complexities of Osimhen’s contractual ties to Napoli present another significant challenge. A potential transfer would require negotiations involving PSG, Galatasaray, and Napoli—a process that is likely to be intricate and time-consuming.

Osimhen has made a notable impact this season, featuring in 10 Turkish Super Lig matches and four Europa League games. His performances have solidified his reputation as one of Europe’s most promising forwards.

For PSG, securing Osimhen’s signature would represent a major coup, underscoring the club’s ambitions for the second half of the season.

However, overcoming the contractual and managerial hurdles will be key to determining whether the Nigerian striker makes his way to the Parc des Princes.
