PSG Edge Closer to Ligue 1 Title with Clinical Win Over Nantes
Paris Saint-Germain moved a step closer to clinching the Ligue 1 title with a composed 2-0 victory away at Nantes on Saturday night. The win gives the Parisian giants a three-point cushion at the top of the table with just three games remaining.
After the match, PSG coach Laurent Blanc praised his team’s sharp start and disciplined overall performance.
“I’m very satisfied with my team’s performance, especially in the first 25 minutes, which were excellent,” said Blanc. “We put Nantes under a lot of pressure and created danger early. Nantes responded after that and gave us some difficulty, but overall, we had control of the match. It’s no surprise that Paris won 2-0—congratulations to the players.”
Goals from Edinson Cavani and Blaise Matuidi ensured a vital win as PSG continued their strong end-of-season form. The reigning champions have now won six consecutive league matches, finding their rhythm at the perfect time.
Blanc also highlighted the team’s newfound intensity out of possession as a key factor in their recent run.
“Paradoxically, what I like most about my team over these last 5-6 matches is the concentration and determination of all the players to win the ball back. That was our greatest strength last season, and it seems to be back,” he added.
Though the title race is not over yet, PSG’s form and focus suggest the trophy may already be leaning their way. With just three games left and momentum on their side, a third consecutive league title is within touching distance.
Paris marches on—relentless, composed, and closing in on glory.
