Juventus Stand Firm Amid Pogba Transfer Speculation
French international Paul Pogba is expected to be one of the hottest names in the upcoming transfer window, with top clubs across Europe vying for his signature. However, Juventus have made it clear they have no intention of parting with their star midfielder—at least not this summer.
Following reports of a possible verbal agreement between Paris Saint-Germain and Pogba, Juventus moved quickly to quash any suggestion that a deal is imminent. Speaking to Sky Sport Italia, Juve’s general manager Giuseppe Marotta firmly denied that the club is looking to sell.
“The Old Lady has no intention of letting one of its stars leave,” Marotta said. “We had a meeting to talk about football with PSG, but we did not discuss selling any player. We have no intention of selling Pogba.”
Pogba, who is under contract with Juventus until June 2019, would not be allowed to leave without the club’s approval. Despite mounting interest from Europe’s elite—including PSG, Real Madrid, and Manchester City—Juventus are determined to retain the services of the 22-year-old, who has become a central figure in the club’s recent success.
With Juventus having recently secured a spot in the UEFA Champions League semi-finals, the club is in a strong financial and sporting position to resist offers for their prized asset. Pogba’s continued presence could prove vital as Juve aim for European glory and further domestic dominance.
The Frenchman of Guinean descent has emerged as one of the most sought-after midfielders in the world, combining technical brilliance, physical strength, and tactical intelligence. While speculation over his future is unlikely to fade anytime soon, Juventus have made their stance clear: Pogba is staying put—at least for now.
