Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has suffered a setback with the announcement of midfielder Jérémy Ménez’s absence until mid-September. Ménez underwent surgery on Tuesday in Monaco to address a herniated disc, and the operation was reported to have gone well.
According to PSG’s official website, Ménez’s post-operative convalescence is expected to last a minimum of three weeks. Following that period, he will begin a rehabilitation and retraining program. If developments are favorable, Ménez may be able to resume competition around mid-September.
This injury comes at a challenging time for PSG, as they recently lost their first friendly match 1-3. The absence of Ménez may prompt the club to consider recruitment options, especially as they prepare for the upcoming season.
At the moment, the only confirmed arrival at PSG is Edinson Cavani, although the transfer is yet to be formalized. Cavani’s addition is expected to bolster PSG’s attacking options, but the absence of Ménez may lead the club to explore further signings to strengthen the squad.
