Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s injury dealt a significant blow to PSG, with the club’s president, Nasser Al Khelaifi, confirming that the striker will be sidelined for four weeks. This news comes ahead of PSG’s crucial second leg against Chelsea in the Champions League quarter-final.
Al Khelaifi revealed on the Louis Attaque show on RMC Sport that Ibrahimovic suffered a strained thigh during PSG’s 3-1 victory over Chelsea, ruling him out of several upcoming matches. The full extent of his injury will be known after further medical examinations.
As a result, Ibrahimovic will miss the return leg against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge and potentially a Champions League semi-final if PSG advances. Additionally, he will be unavailable for PSG’s Coupe de la Ligue final against Lyon on April 19.
In Ibrahimovic’s absence, PSG manager Laurent Blanc may opt to reposition Edinson Cavani as the primary striker for the upcoming matches.
