PSG have a better attack without Kylian Mbappe – Enrique

NOUVEAU POUR SITE 2025 01 22T212446

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) head coach Luis Enrique expressed unwavering confidence in his team’s capabilities ahead of their crucial Ligue 1 match against Monaco.

Speaking at a pre-match press conference, Enrique addressed the squad’s performance following the high-profile departure of Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid, emphasizing the team’s positive adaptation and improved collective effort.

Enrique reaffirmed his earlier prediction of enhanced offensive and defensive performance.

“I was very brave last season when I said we would have a better attack and a better defence,” Enrique said. “I still believe that, and the numbers confirm it.”

Indeed, PSG’s current statistics support his claim, with the team having scored 54 goals while conceding only 19 in their 20 Ligue 1 matches this season.

While acknowledging the significance of Mbappe’s departure, Enrique praised the squad’s resilience and adaptability.

“Everyone wanted Kylian, but the team are responding positively, at a spectacular level,” he added.

This sentiment aligns with PSG’s impressive league performance, as they currently lead the Ligue 1 standings with 50 points, remaining unbeaten with 15 wins and 5 draws.

As PSG prepare to face Monaco, currently third in the league, Enrique’s comments reflect a broader transformation within the squad.
