The extension of Blaise Matuidi’s contract with Paris Saint-Germain is reportedly close to being finalized following the team’s victory against Leverkusen. According to reports from L’Equipe, PSG could announce the extension of Matuidi’s contract within the day. The new contract is expected to extend until 2018, adding four more years to his current deal. Additionally, Matuidi’s salary is set to increase significantly from 2.8 million euros to a range between 5 and 6 million euros per season. This move aims to fend off interest from Manchester City, who have shown interest in signing the French international. Thiago Motta is also expected to extend his stay at PSG under similar terms.
