PSG Set to Renew Interest in Angel Di Maria Transfer Despite High Costs
Paris — Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaïfi recently confirmed that the club’s pursuit of Angel Di Maria had stalled due to the player’s high price tag, following the unveiling of David Luiz. However, reports suggest PSG is far from abandoning talks, with plans to return with an improved offer.
According to L’Équipe, PSG’s initial proposal — a €10 million loan deal including an automatic purchase option next year — was rejected, but the French champions intend to re-enter negotiations with fresh terms.
To fund the potential signing and comply with UEFA’s financial regulations, PSG will likely need to offload one of their current players. Striker Ezequiel Lavezzi is reportedly the prime candidate to make way for Di Maria.
The Argentine winger made 34 appearances and scored four goals for Real Madrid in the previous season, adding valuable experience and creativity to PSG’s ambitions.
