Claude Makélélé’s role within the Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) coaching staff is yet to be clearly defined. Although there were initial expectations of him taking charge of the Parisian group, it is now confirmed that he will not be Laurent Blanc’s direct deputy. However, Blanc expressed his intention to work with Makélélé, along with Jean Louis Gasset, who has been confirmed in his role.
Blanc stated, “We won’t go into details about the staff today. We are currently discussing with the leaders to compose it. There are comings and goings. What is certain: I am coming with Jean Louis. Please allow me to wait some time for me to compose this staff, and we will communicate it to you. The will is shared, both by Claude and by myself, so if the wishes are the same, we will get there. We are in the process of putting in place a competent staff, with people who have the same desire as us, the same passion, the same philosophy if possible as us. It is not yet definitive; we cannot say more.”
