PSG and Barcelona monitoring Crystal Palace defender Jaydee Canvot
Crystal Palace defender Jaydee Canvot has reportedly attracted interest from both Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona following an impressive breakthrough season in England.
According to reports from L’Équipe, the two European giants are closely monitoring the 19-year-old French defender after his strong performances for the Premier League side during the 2025/26 campaign.
Canvot only joined Crystal Palace last summer from Toulouse FC, but he has quickly established himself as an important figure at Selhurst Park.
Strong First Season in the Premier League
The France U21 international has enjoyed a remarkable debut season in England, making 37 appearances across all competitions for Crystal Palace.
His rapid development has played a significant role in Palace’s successful campaign, with the young defender expected to start in Wednesday night’s UEFA Europa Conference League final against Rayo Vallecano.
Canvot’s composure, defensive awareness, and athleticism have earned praise throughout the season, attracting attention from several top European clubs.
Barcelona and PSG Showing Interest
Barcelona are believed to be among the clubs considering a move for the French youngster as they continue searching for long-term defensive options.
Paris Saint-Germain are also reportedly keeping a close eye on the defender. The French champions have followed Canvot’s progress since his departure from Toulouse, and his performances in England have only strengthened their admiration for the player.
However, reports suggest PSG’s interest has not yet developed into concrete negotiations at this stage.
Crystal Palace Facing Defensive Uncertainty
Crystal Palace could face a difficult challenge in keeping hold of Canvot amid growing transfer interest from Europe’s elite clubs.
The defender remains under contract with the Premier League side until 2029, placing Palace in a strong negotiating position.
However, the club is already dealing with significant changes in defence after Marc Guehi departed in January, while fellow French defender Maxence Lacroix has also been linked with a move away during the summer transfer window.
With uncertainty surrounding several defensive players, Crystal Palace will be eager to avoid losing another important figure at the back ahead of next season.
