PSG accelerate Ousmane Dembele contract renewal

Ousmane Dembele’s difficult start to the season has created tension at Paris Saint-Germain, but the club’s response suggests that his future remains firmly in the French capital.

Despite granting the Ballon d’Or winner several days away from the squad, PSG are reportedly accelerating negotiations over a contract extension.

Dembele shortened his holiday to return in excellent condition. However, he began the campaign on the bench in both the European Super Cup and Champions Trophy before being substituted early during the draw with Rennes. The sequence left the French international frustrated and prompted a direct conversation with Luis Enrique and the sporting department.

That meeting resulted in an immediate break, with Dembele expected to rejoin the group next Monday. Internally, though, PSG are treating the episode as manageable rather than a sign of a serious rupture.

According to RMC Sport, the club wants to add one or two seasons to Dembele’s current agreement, potentially keeping him in Paris until 2029 or 2030. The reported plan represents a strong vote of confidence in the forward, who remains central to PSG’s ambitions.

A dressing-room source described the controversy as “a storm in a teacup.”
